Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to prepare students to develop their communication skills in the new form of digital environment. Students who attend the course are aimed to have the ability to explain aspects of social media and to analyze the cases and potential communication crisis and to find creative solutions for new forms of effective communication in the social plateau of this emerging digital environment.
Course Content: Culture and Social Media. Privacy and Surveillance .Law and Ethics in Social Media. Identity and Reputation in social media. Social Networking and Social Capital. Technological Convergence and the rise of mobile technology. Measuring, Monitoring and analyzing social media trends and impact. Crowd sourcing and the news. Social Media and organizations. Social media and government/diplomacy. Social media and activism.
