Course Objectives: | The purpose of the Manufacturing Techniques course is to give students the fundamental knowledge of manufacturing methods such as metal casting, metal forming, metal machining and welding that has a wide range of usage in mechanical engineering. |
Course Content: | • Introduction of the course. • Fundamentals of metal casting • Metal casting processes • Fundamentals of metal forming • Bulk deformation processes • Sheet metalworking • Theory of metal machining • Machining operations and machine tools • Midterm Exam • Grinding and other abrasive processes • Fundamentals of welding • Welding processes • Review & Extra problem solutions • Project Presentations • Final Exam |
