Course Objectives: | This lecture focuses on the general characteristics of children’s literature; additionally, it also provides appropriate and inappropriate examples among the current sources of the children’s literature. Moreover, this lecture also separates book contents in accordance to the age of children, and assesses these sources from the aspect of their usefulness and positive effects on children. |
Course Content: | • Describe the characteristics of children's literature. • Evaluates works of qualified and unqualified children's literature. • Provides information on selecting books appropriate for children's age range. • refers to the effects of children's literature works on the development of childhood. • Describes the contribution of linguistic tools such as fairy tales, epic poems, stories to children's development. |
