Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to examine crime from a sociological perspective and to touch on issues such as deviance and deviant behavior in modern societies.
Course Content: Within the scope of this course, classical and contemporary crime theories; the nature and causes of his guilt; analysis of the relationship between industrialization, urbanization, social and cultural change and crime; new criminology movements (Feminist, Marxist and Radical Criminology; new types of crimes (Computer crimes, etc.); crime and criminality in Turkey, the relationship between crime and justice system, approaches to preventing crime and social deviance and deviant behavior.)

3) Discuss critically cause and effect relationships used in sociological perspectives; thereby formulate visions, aims and targets by identifying gaps in the existing knowledge in their areas of interest.
