Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Calculating stress, unit deformation, mechanical properties of materials and structural relations in simple structural elements; understanding the concepts of center of gravity and moment of inertia and performing simple bending calculations.
Course Content: Basic principles, stress states, stress-strain relations, unit extension or shortening, deformations occurring in materials, finding the center of gravity and moment of inertia, bending calculations in simple beams.
