Course Objectives: In this course, our students are taught the techniques and applications of the content of basketball branch.
Course Content: • Uses basic styles of basketball.
• Defines the function, goals and philosophy of basketball.
• Uses the scientific development of basketballsport and its relationship with other disciplines.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Explaining the course's operation and main objectives. Discussing students relationships with basketball, getting to know each other. What is basketball?, the history of basketball and its depelopment. -
2) Basketball game rules. The sıgnatures of basketball referees, analyzing of international popular basketball organisations and wondering questions.
3) Basketball basic stance, ball handling and ball hand coordination, applications for technical development -
4) Technic of dribbling, back dribbling, technic and variations of handling. -
5) Stepping and the technic of lay up, pivot step. -
6) Shot technic, methods of shot practicing, free throw. -
7) Stagger stances, rebound. -
8) MIDTERM
9) Defense cuts, Run with and without the ball -
10) Philosophy of attack and variations of attack, fast-break. -
11) Defensive philosophy and its variations. -
12) Screening-Rolling, 1x1, 2x2 practices. -
13) Reinforcing of teachings, 5x5 rule practices. -
14) Having a review lesson about to all wondering questions and game rules. Analize the game by watching. -
15) final examination
