Course Objectives:

• The different areas of the media and the students are expected to know the role of translation in these areas.
• Students are expected to know the text of the written press traditions in both source and target cultures.
• Students are expected to learn the role of news agencies in the press.
• Preparation of news articles in the press, students’ recognition of ideological factors which are effective in delivering solutions during media translation process.
• Student is expected to translate news in target language , and is expected to make critical comments on the target text

Course Content:

The different respects of media are introduced. Visual, written and electronic media are examined and the role of translation in the history of the discourse is examined too. Focus on text in the source and target culture in the print media. Make comparative analysis of different newspapers reports and news. Discussion on the translation of the typical text accompanied by focused presentations.
