Specific Admission Requirements

• The student must have received at least 65 points from the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) numerical score type.
• Although the language of instruction in our Orthodontic Doctorate Department is Turkish, the foreign language (English) is dam. Knowledge of English is essential for scientific literature pursuit. For this reason, one of the exams administered by ÖSYM (KPDS / ÜDS / YDS / YÖKDİL / TIPDİL) must get at least 70 points out of 100 points.
• Faculty of Dentistry undergraduate graduation average should be 2.5/4 or equivalent.
• Candidates must pass the scientific evaluation exam (written, oral, wire bending and/or interview result) "Successfully" in the Orthodontics Department.
• T.C. Istanbul Okan University Ph.D. application form should be filled.

For foreign students:

a) Having a dentistry license in a program recognized by YÖK (equivalence)
b) Transcript average not less than 2.5 (out of 4)
c) ALES 65 and above or GRE/GMAT 652/152 (according to the ALES-GRE Conversion table)
d) To have YDS 70 and above in English or an equivalent score from similar exams
a. According to the ÖSYM-Foreign Language Exams Equivalency document:
TOEFL 84 or CBT 221 or PBT 561 or IELTS 6.5
e) To have TÖMER C1 and equivalent level for Turkish proficiency
a. Students who will start the program after learning Turkish for a certain period of time are interviewed again after receiving their documents.
b. The Turkish level should be at a level that will not have any difficulty in understanding the theoretical lessons and giving seminars, communicate adequately with the patients and write a doctoral thesis in Turkish.
