Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:	Resource texts are subjected to translation oriented analyses. In order to meet expectations in target texts necessary norms shall be emphasized. Analyze resource text and make initial decision for translation in terms of type, writing intention, target audience, contained message, context and their usage in the textual language.
Course Content:	Definition and description on text will be discussed. Different types of text for translation orientation will be analyzed. Textual analyses will be made in terms of target audience and context as well as cultural factors. Initial translation decision will be drawn up based on adequate textual analyses. Turkish-Chinese and Chinese-Turkish translation practices are included.
