Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Chronic Diseases; to get general information about cause, symptom, finding, treatment, classification and care of chronic diseases seen especially in the elderly
The purpose of this course is to present a comprehensive review etiology, clinical findings, diagnosis and basic treatment of chronic diseases of elder people. Also this course desingned to present preventative take precaution. Topics include elder body organization; homeostasis; and disease of skeletal, muscular, joint, cardiovascular, blood, immune, respiratory, endocrine, excretory, nervous, sensory, digestive systems and special senses. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of principles of basic anatomy and main physiology and their interrelationships in elder people.

Course Content: Definition and characteristics of chronic diseases, course and stages. Chronic diseases of cardiovascular system, Pulmonary system diseases in old age, Gastrointestinal system diseases in old age, Gynecological and urological system, Nephrologic diseases, Endocrinological diseases in old age, Chronic diseases of musculoskeletal system, Chronic diseases of the norological system, Otorhinolaryngologic diseases, Old age and cancer
