We try to define information systems are why so essential in business today. Summarize an information system and identify its’ management, organization, and technology components. Identify complementary assets and explain how they ensure that information systems provide genuine value to an organization. Show the different academic disciplines used to study information systems and explain how each contributes to our understanding of them. Automation systems such as CRM, TPS, SCM, DSS and ESS are also recognized throughout the lecture. Besides, hardware, software, business intelligence with securing the information systems is also stated. E-commerce, telecommunication and internet based technologies are explained. |
Course Content: | Organizational foundations of information systems; hardware; software, wireless communication; internet; management information systems; ERP systems; planning; implementation and the stages of MIS systems; application areas; decision-making methods and the effects of these systems on the functions of management. |
