Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to provide the concept and the importance of disaster & humanitarian Logistics, the differences between commercial logistics and disaster & humanitarian Logistics, the complexity in a disaster & humanitarian Logistics and the problems and solving methods of the complexity, collaboration in disaster & humanitarian Logistics, processes of planning and operations, performance management in disaster & humanitarian logistics. The content of the course has been formed in disaster relief operations, impact on aid effectiveness, public-private (and civil-military) partnerships in the supply chain, economic importance of the aid industry, integration in the relief supply chain, public-private partnerships in humanitarian logistics, food security from disaster relief to development and recovery, health care humanitarian supply chains, security in humanitarian logistics, challenges in humanitarian logistics
Course Content: Disaster relief operations, Impact on aid effectiveness, Public-private (and civil-military) partnerships in the supply chain, Economic importance of the aid industry, Integration in the relief supply chain, Public-private partnerships in humanitarian logistics, Food security from disaster relief to development and recovery, Health care humanitarian supply chains, Security in humanitarian logistics, Challenges in humanitarian logistics.
