Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Introducing of the prefabricated structures,
Understanding of the design of prefabricated structures,
Understanding of the analysis of prefabricated industrial structures,
Understanding the repair and strengthening of existing prefabricated structures.
Course Content: Introduction. The aim of prefabricated construction. Definations. Materials and loads. Design principles. Prefabricated elements. Connecting regions. Frame connections. Statical and dynamical experiments of connecting regions. Load bearing systems; frame systems, large panel systems, composite systems. Panalisation. Shear and compression connections between panels. Design of structural elements. Non-load bearing elements. Diaphragm design, analysis of prefabricated slabs systems. Statical and earthquake design and analysis of prefabricated elements and systems. Design of joints and connections. The design and construction of earthquake resistant prefabricated structures. Analysis and design of prefabricated industrial and housing structures. Prefabricated bridge elements, design of prefabricated different systems. Principles of construction. Damages observed in prefabricated structures, repair and strengthening. Tolerances, manufacture, transportation and erection in prefabricated construction.
