Course Objectives: | This course aims to introduce students to the current discussion topics of the fashion industry they are about to enter, and to gain insight on sustainability and ethical values. In the course, the necessity of taking a more conscious attitude with designer identities in fashion industry, where production and consumption rate is gradually increasing, will be discussed. In the light of the theoretical knowledge given to the students, students will be expected to develop projects related to the subject. |
Course Content: | - Gaining a critical look at the Fashion Industry - Knowledge of Fast Fashion and Slow Fashion Concepts - Thinking on the economic, social and biological problems and solutions of fashion conscious based on consumption - Developing an experimental, creative and new perspective by evaluating waste and recyclable materials - Learn textile recycling methods and samples - Understanding the ethical values of fashion enterprises - Conceptual design development |
