Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed that the student assimilates the stages of photography in the light of scientific and technological developments, comprehends the technology of the camera and reflects what he has learned with the various applications to the photography works, and recognizes the photographers and their works with his research subjects.
Course Content: The subjects of the basic photography course are presented to the students with a visual presentation. Subject to the needs of internal and / or external shots are made.

1) What is a photo? Transferring current information about taking and making photographs. Explanation and impressions through visual samples. .
2) The discovery and development of photography: Advances in the field of physics. .
3) The discovery and development of photography: Advances in the field of chemistry. .
4) Camera and optics: - Ob Camera Obscura ”and Pin Hole Cameras - SLR, dSLR Cameras - Standard, Medium Format and Large Format Cameras .
5) Camera lens - Lens system - Focal lengths of lenses .
6) Aperture (f stop): What are the aperture numbers and functions? .
7) Shutter Speed: What are the shutter numbers and functions? What is ASA / ISO / DIN? What are ISO Numbers and their functions? .

9) What is light? Light sources and characteristics of light: - Light spectrum, wavelength - frequency and speed of light, - Wavelengths of colors. - Diffusion and diffraction of light .
10) Color of Light: - Primary and intermediate colors, - Additive colors - Inferential colors, .
