Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: With this program, the student;
1. Acquiring the basic skills of cello education,
2. Using technical terminology related to the cello correctly and appropriately,
3. Understand and apply basic or intermediate level vocalization techniques that may be encountered during the cello training process,
4. Understand and apply basic nuance terms,
5. Understand and use different forms of measurement,
6. Understand and use basic articulation and ornament terms,
7. Performing the works with musical sensitivity,
8. It is aimed to develop awareness of responsibility in individual work.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) 1- Correct on cello holding, sitting 2-Left hand finger placement on the fingerboard 3-Finger of your left hand learning tricks 4-Pizzicato technique APPLICATION 5-With exercises quarter note, quarter note Using sus values
2) 1- Starts using the spring 2- Begins to use quarter, quarter and quarter notes with the bow. 3- Begins to learn G Major and D Major sounds with different note values ​​in first position with the left hand. Recognizes 9-2/4,3/4,4/4 measurement formats.
3) 1- Ability to play scales in G and D Major keys. 2- Ability to apply unity, second and quarter notes in the scales learned 3- Ability to find the notes in the first position with the correct intonation 4- Improving bow technique 5- Applying nuances on the cello 6- Recognizing finger numbers on the cello 7- Applying legato and stacatto techniques in bow usage.
4) 1- Performs etude exercises with the sounds of G and D Major scales. 2- Sharps in the exercises he plays They are asked to demonstrate it on the cello. 3- Work on the work begins. 4-Exercises are done. 5- He is asked to transpose the piece he is playing. 6- Scales with different rhythmic structures in right hand bow usage work is done.
5) 1- He is asked to play the pieces he has learned with different rhythmic structures. 2- New works and studies are added
6) 1- Recognizes the notes on the 4 strings used in the first position. 2- It starts the C Major scale.
7) Learns 1-2 and 4-bound scales. 2- Begins arpeggio exercises. 3- Begins to make arpeggios in 3 movements. 4- Performs different exercises for using the bow.

9) 1- Starts new works. 2- Distinguishes tonality in works in the first position. 3- It transposes. 4- Improves the use of left hand fingers through etude studies.
