Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: *Using the voice healthy.
* Learning music and basic musical theatre vocabulary.
*Transfer of breath support, intonation, rhythm, harmony and pronunciation subjects to acting through singing.
Course Content: This lecture aims to associate acting and performative tecniques with singing. With the researches that's done over musical theatre vocabulary and the subject,
this lecture aims to teach student to be able to create the character in a musical performance through the melody and the words in the musical scenes.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Introductions, musical theater vocabulary; physical and vocal warm-ups and vocal assessments.
2) Warm-ups with sound and movement, Lessac Technique, vocalize and review basic body moves.
3) Look at exerpts from several contrasting musicals. Sound and voice exercises. Assign more solos and start rehearsing the solos.
4) Warm-ups and solo work in native language (Turkish).
5) Warm-ups. Solo works and scene work. (Excerpts from the musical/s)
6) Rehearse scenes, solos and work on Lessac more deeper.
7) Vocalize, and stretch. Stage solo numbers (memorized).
8) Mid-term Exam.
9) Warm-ups and new solo song/s.
10) Sound and movement, scene work, review.
11) Warm-ups, scene work and solos.
12) Warm-ups, diction exercises, scene, and solos.
13) Warm-ups, solo rehearsals and review.
14) Final Exam.
