| Course Objectives: |
The aim of this course is to enable students to gain knowledge of the basic terminology, coding systems, and operational documents used in airline transportation and airport operations, and to develop the ability to understand and use this terminology accurately and appropriately in its proper context. |
| Course Content: |
This course covers the basic aviation terminology used in airline transportation and airport operations. The content includes the aviation phonetic alphabet and phraseology, airline and airport codes, abbreviations, aircraft registration marks and operational identifiers, airport structure terminology including runways, aprons, and taxiways, aircraft structure and components, cockpit and cabin terminology, as well as basic expressions related to ground handling, passenger services, and ramp operations. In addition, the course addresses ticketing and fare-related terminology, passenger and cargo services, flight operations terminology, IATA delay codes, and health, first aid, and emergency-related terminology. Basic forms, documents, and checklists used in airline and airport operations are also reviewed through examples to enhance students’ familiarity with operational documentation. |
