Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aims of the course is to provide students with; preparing and planning a drama lecture and positive attitudes to teaching of creative drama.
Course Content: Introduction to Drama: Definition of drama, basic concepts, history, difference between drama, game, theater, and psychodrama. Benefits of drama: Effects of drama on creativity, mental development, problem solving, interpersonal relations, social skills, decision making. Steps and techniques of drama: Steps; preparing, performance, evaluation. Techniques (improvisation, role play, still image, mim, role cards etc.). Etimology of drama description of creative drama, objectives and applications, difference between creative drama and theater. Properties, elements, dimensions of creative drama/drama applications. Creative drama in world and historical development in Turkey. Pioneers of creative drama. Personal properties and recognition. Communication-interaction between persons and groups. Sense and trust studies. Adaptation, observation studies. Game, rol playing, improvisation concepts. Techniques for creative drama and their applications.
