Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed to increase knowledge and skills of special education teacher candidates about how evaluation should be done in special education.
Course Content: Basic concepts; the legal and philosophical foundations of the evaluation; purposes of evaluation; medical, developmental, psychological and educational evaluation; evaluation process: screening, diagnosis, placement, programming and evaluation of the program; pre-post evaluation process; sending and detailed evaluation process; formal evaluation methods; informal evaluation methods; curriculum based assessment; observation; skill analysis; criterion-dependent tests; study sample analysis; performance evaluation; reporting the evaluation process; development of measurement tools: preparing, implementing, interpreting and using measurement data to determine the performances and developments of students in various teaching fields.
