Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The development of basic science literacy and social skills of special education teacher candidates is aimed with this course.
Course Content: Teaching methods used in science education; examining the topics in science; sorting of topics; to determine the concepts necessary for the acquisition of subjects and to develop criteria-dependent measurement tools for concepts based on them; preparing lesson plans according to the levels of students; sample teaching practices; adapting science education to students with special education needs; teaching methods used in teaching social studies; examination of social themes (units, specific days and weeks, etc.); putting things in logical order; the development of criterion-dependent measurement tools related to concepts based on the determination of the concepts necessary for the acquisition of subjects; preparing lesson plans according to the level of students; sample teaching practices; adapting social studies education to students with special education needs.
