Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Creating spontaneous models using by fabric, mileage paper or similar materials. Performs shaping material on the dummy if the material lets to shape it before designing. Designer reviews the result as 3D and prepares the pattern that who created the model. This case very important development evolution of the fashion designer.
Course Content: To understand the importance of draping in mold making and increasing our creativity.
• To have the ability to apply the basic skirt pattern on the mannequin and prepare the pattern on paper according to the technique.
• To have the ability to apply the basic cup mold on the mannequin and prepare the mold on paper according to the technique.
• Gaining the ability to work asymmetric skirt pattern.
• Ability to apply single and shirring drapes.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) • The importance of draping in mold preparation. Differences between the meanings of draping and drepe words • The outline of the course is discussed. Practical expression is done in the workshop. It is done again.
2) Removal of marks on the tailor's dummy with an extrapola or satin ribbon. Taking the waist, hip, chest and shoulder line in the transverse marking on the mannequin. Side lines in the longitudinal marking on the mannequin, taking the front and back center. • Marking the measurement places in the model Practical expression is done in the workshop. 3) • Needling and marking the fabrics on the mannequin. Transfer of the fabric molds taken out of the manikin to the paper. Finishing the mold by making necessary corrections • Basic skirt pattern Practical expression is done in the workshop. Mold making practices are done.
