Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In the translation project, students are expected to meet translation problems and solutions. By working on a modest translation project to be determined, it is aimed to develop their knowledge and skills, as well as to gain awareness about editorship and to develop research acquisition.

1) Identifying the potential problems in the translation process; describing, formulating and solving them.
2) Carries out translation oriented text-analyis in every stage of the tranlation process and performs the translation in line with these analyses.
3) Identifies the tranlation strategies for target text.
4) Carries out the neccessary research during the translation process and develops skills to attain research competence.
5) Gains awareness and knowlegde about the editing process.
Competence to Work Independently and Take Responsibility
1) Manages all aspects of his/her individual part of the translation project (timing, research, problem solving etc.)
