Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to present the initial studies on the concepts of type and typology in architecture, the development of these studies over time, contemporary typology research, and the areas where these studies are applied in architectural practice. The course content is delivered through theoretical lectures, discussions, and the examination and analysis of both analytical and generative typology approaches.
Course Content: This course covers the historical background of the concepts of type and typology in architecture, their role in modern architectural discourse, and their contemporary applications. Fundamental approaches to typology are discussed through theoretical texts and case studies. Analytical and generative typology methods are examined and their place in the architectural design process is evaluated.
