Course Objectives: The purpose of the financial markets and institutions course; to present basic concepts and principles related to financial institutions, financial markets and financial instruments in a theoretical and quantitative framework.
Course Content: Financial System, Financial Institutions, Market Structure and Legal Regulations, Central Banks, Commercial Banks, Development, Participation and Investment Banks, Stock Exchange, Institutional Investors and Capital Markets, Investment Funds and Investment Partnerships, Intermediary Institutions, Private Insurance Companies, Social Security Institutions, International Financial Institutions and Markets, Pension Funds, Mortgage Based Funds, Financial Crises, Recent Developments in the System and Markets
