Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is to gain knowledge, skills and behaviors to be able to define the pre-, intra- and post-operative needs of the surgical patient and their family, to be able to solve the problems of the surgical patient in line with the nursing process, by having knowledge about surgical diseases.
Course Content: This course; Introduction of the course, establishing the relationship between the course learning output and the program qualifications Definition of Surgery, History and Effects of Surgery on the Patient, Aseptic Methods, Hospital Infections, Surgical Site Infections, Liquid Electrolyte, Acid-Base Balance and Imbalance in Surgery, Bleeding in Surgery, Shock and Nursing Care Tissue Injury, Wound Types and Care, Before, During and After Surgical Care, Features of the Operating Room, Surgical Diseases of the Respiratory System and Nursing Care, Surgical Diseases of the Cardiovascular System and Nursing Care, Midterm Exam, Surgical Diseases of the Nervous System and Nursing Care, Surgical Diseases of the Digestive System Diseases Nursing and Care, Kidney, Urinary Tracts and Male Reproductive Organs Surgical Diseases and Nursing Care, Orthopedic Diseases and Nursing Care, Breast Diseases and Nursing Care, Ophthalmology and Nursing Care, ENT Diseases and Nursing Care, Endocrine System Surgical Patient General Principles in Nursing Care, Transplantation and Burn Treatment Course Evaluation; includes topics.
