Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: At the end of this course, students are expected to have learned these.

· Have basic theoretical and practical knowledge about audiometry.

· Know the ethical principles and rules regarding patients with hearing and balance complaints.

· Have knowledge about basic objective and subjective vestibular tests used to assess balance.
Course Content: The aim of this course is to learn audiometry disease physiology, the anatomy of the balance on the balance of the course . Detailed information by identifying the necessary treatment of such diseases are not the owner.

1) 1. Describe the anatomical structures (peripheral and central) and physiological functioning of the vestibular system.
2) 2. Explain the basic types of nystagmus seen in peripheral and central balance system pathologies and their pathophysiology.
3) 3. Know the principles and purposes of applying basic objective balance tests such as VNG, caloric testing, VEMP, vHIT and computerized dynamic posturography.

1) 4. Correctly explains the application procedures and standard protocol steps of basic vestibular tests (VNG, Caloric, VEMP, vHIT).
2) 5. Prepares for tests and administers tests to patients with balance complaints in accordance with ethical principles.
