Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: With this course, students comprehend the concepts of science, scientificity, ethics and research. They learn and apply scientific research methods and techniques. They form a scientific research text in stages and learn to test its validity, reliability and significance level.
Course Content: Introduction to research methods; Academic research methods (survey, correlational, causal-comparison, experimental, case-study, action, phenomenon-science, ethnography, theory formation etc.); The stages of the research; Research problem and subject; Hypothesis determination; Literature scanning; Ethics and plagiarism in research; Thesis, Project, Article and Paper writing rules, APA, IEEE writing rules; Universe - Sampling; Data analysis methods, variable (dependent and independent variables) determination; Measurement, Scales; Validity and Reliability, Correlation coefficient, Reliability coefficient, Cronbach Alpha, Descriptive statistics; Inferential statistics; Hypothesis - Significance Tests, T-test, F-test (ANOVA)
