Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course is designed to enable students to interpret the relationship between clothes and human body and develop their drawing skills in fashion illustration.
Fashion Drawing Drawing Techniques; allows students to paint their dreams with an artistic look.
Our students; develop their artistic style by developing artistic drawing techniques with mixed technique.

Lesson Plan

1) Introduce the course to the students and required material list. -
2) • Explain difference between realistic and stylistic proportions • Explain what are realistic and stylistic proportions. • Show how to draw the body from a croquis. -
3) • Show the past and future illustration legends • Display the difference between realism and stylism. • Demonstration and hand out about drawing a croquis grid • Explain the basic components of anatomy. -
4) • Explain how to view the body in terms of cylinders and cubes. • Show how to draw a grid and croquis with front and back views.
5) • Explain action lines and hash lines. • Demonstrate action lines, locating center of gravity, hash lines, joints, ¾ view. -
6) •Demonstrate how to illustrate draping, creases, folds, wrapping around 3d. •Demonstrate light and shadow first on simple shapes then on dressed croquis.
7) • Demonstrate how to apply colour, including skin tones, shading, white outline for light, resist technique. • Demonstrate on various poses how to apply volume, faces, hair and hands. -
