Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It aims to inform the student about First Aid.
Course Content: Students taking the course will learn about the basic concepts and practices of first aid, the structures that make up the human body, basic life support, patient and injured transportation techniques, first aid for bleeding and shock, first aid for injuries, first aid for foreign objects stuck in the eyes, ears, or nose, first aid for fractures, dislocations, and sprains, first aid for respiratory tract obstruction and drowning, first aid for impaired consciousness, low blood sugar, and chest pain, first aid for burns, frostbite, and heat stroke, first aid for poisoning, first aid for insect bites and animal bites, and first aid in disasters.

Theoretical - Conceptual
1) Explains the basic concepts and scope of first aid and why it is critical in emergency situations; understands the importance of first-aid practices in terms of safety, speed, and effectiveness.
2 - Skills
Cognitive - Practical
1) Plans and performs basic life support practices in accordance with the individual’s age and developmental characteristics and in line with established standards. Understands and applies the importance and use of the AED device during the Basic Life Support process.
2) Knows the necessary first aid principles and methods for emergencies and disasters such as altered levels of consciousness, injury, bleeding and shock, foreign body obstruction, drowning, poisoning, fractures, burns, frostbite and heatstroke, and animal bites; and systematically applies the appropriate intervention process according to the situation.
3) They know the principles of safe patient or casualty transport and can correctly and safely apply the appropriate carrying techniques under different conditions
