Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To gain a basic perspective on public and private health insurance and to explain the importance of finance and insurance in health management. In addiction, to give the knowledge and skills to understand how the agreements could be between insurance companies and other institutions.
Course Content: This course includes the following topics; concepts in insurance and health insurance, health insurance type and classification, location of the main funding models and health insurance in the health and importance of social security and health insurance in Turkey: an overview of health insurance practices in Turkey, General health insurance, Private health insurance, Complementary health insurance, Health insurance and recent developments in payment systems, Agreements between insurance companies and institutions, Agreements between insurance companies and institutions, Overview of private insurance companies and company agreements.

1) Reviews health system and its sub-systems from a financial macro perspective.
2) Explain health financing resources and the importance of diversity.
3) Classifies health expenses by source and distribution and explains the importance of sustainability of health expenditures.
4) Explain the concepts of insurance and insurance and comprehend basic working principles of insurance.
5) Discusses Private and Public Health Insurance, and understands the general laws of insurance, its authorized bodies, their relations and their importance.
6) Identifies the organization and function distribution and structuring in Private Health Insurance institutions and their relations with service providers.
