Course Objectives: | The purpose of this course is to provide information about the psychological problems faced by elderly individuals. Main topics: the effects of ageing process on the psychosocial functions, learning, emotional and physical capacity, psychosocial aspects of ageing in elderly individuals and character changes, neurological disorders showing distinctive and different features, depression and other similar problems seen among elderly individuals, late-life anxiety, late-life bipolar disorders. |
Course Content: | • Learns the stages of human life and its general characteristics • Defines the concept of psychology in old age • Identies psychological problems encountered in old age • Learns the concept of old psychology • Learns how to behave in order to protect psychological health |
