Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to explain the development of health services and hospitals from the history of health and health management from the perspective of health management. In addition, the aim of the course is to teach the following subjects to the students;
• Hospital system, purpose of hospitals; functions, classification, models.
• The state of health services in Turkey, evaluation of the need for a community hospital beds and hospital management, hospital management, services in hospitals.
• Definition, functions and development of management, health, health services and health institutions, characteristics of effective health service, factors affecting use of health services; evaluation of services and health institutions, financing, planning, organization, execution, coordination and supervision of health services;
• Types of public, private and third sector social service institutions;
• Main characteristics and types of healthcare organizations;
• Principles and dimensions of management in healthcare organizations, international health organizations, healthcare delivery, communication and leadership in healthcare delivery, working relationships, motivation and stress in healthcare delivery, coordination and control in healthcare, health legislation.
