Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the following concepts: risk definition; classification of risks; risk management; definition and elements of the insurance; insurable risks; general principles of insurance; function and place of economy; basic insurance concepts; the insurance contract and the parties; insurance types and reinsurance and types; insurance companies; agents; duties and responsibilities of experts and actors; compensation payment process in insurance companies; insurance technical provisions; Regulatory and supervisory institutions in the Turkish insurance sector; professional organizations; Functions and duties of institutions such as DASK, TARSİM, insurance account, insurance arbitration committee, SEGEM and TII. |
Course Content: | Definition of Risk; classification of risks; risk management; definition and elements of the insurance; insurable risks; general principles of insurance; function and place of economy; basic insurance concepts; the insurance contract and the parties; insurance types and reinsurance and types; insurance companies; agents; duties and responsibilities of experts and actors; compensation payment process in insurance companies; insurance technical provisions; Regulatory and supervisory institutions in the Turkish insurance sector; professional organizations; Functions and duties of institutions such as DASK, TARSİM, insurance account, insurance arbitration committee, SEGEM and TII. |
