Course Objectives: | To improve students' knowledge and professional skills on warehouse management |
Course Content: | The course is basically; Principles of warehouse management, location of warehouse and physical distribution in logistics, administrative functions in warehouse management, warehouse types, warehouse structure, warehouse location selection and warehouse activities, warehouse design and layout, network management, storage of materials, ensuring inventory adequacy, warehouse security, effectiveness and efficiency measurement, packaging and handling systems and legal issues. Additionally, emphasis will be on warehouse modeling through computer aided information systems, decision support systems, optimization modeling, simulation, advanced statistics and commercial logistics software. |
