Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Students will be taught voice training techniques used in the Turkish Classical Music repertoire. To provide students with the ability to perform the TSM vocal repertoire at all levels by teaching them.
Course Content: Improving solfeggio knowledge and note reading ability.
Ability to understand and use Turkish Classical Music modes.
Expressing the words correctly in the maqams and procedures used in the TSM repertoire.
Practicing vocal techniques.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Advanced solfeggio studies and maqam structure analysis. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
2) Development of vocal technique and analysis of songs. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
3) Study of wide vocal ranges and performance of the first piece. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
4) Analysis of the repertoire and performance of the second piece. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
5) Studying mode changes and complex melody structures Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
6) Analysis of the third piece and vocal performance exercises Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
7) Vocal stylization techniques and analysis of the fourth piece. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
8) Advanced solfeggio exercises and performance of the fifth piece Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
9) Expansion of the vocal color palette and analysis of the sixth work. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
10) Expression of emotion and performance of the seventh piece. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
11) Analysis and performance practice of vocal periodical works. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
12) Evaluation of student performances and vocal technique. Lecture notes will be provided to the student during class time.
