Course Objectives: | The purpose of this course is to provide students with an introduction to principles and practices in entrepreneurship. In the globalized and interconnected business world, entrepreneurship is now considered as a career choice and panacea for most of the social problems youngsters face. This course defines entrepreneurship within the context of opportunity recognition, innovative thinking, risk taking and role modeling. Entrepreneurs are the people, who innovate, create new products, make decisions, develop and implement business plans, penetrate new markets, and serve clients and customers. |
Course Content: | Basic concepts of entrepreneurship; franchising; buyouts; small and medium sized enterprises; start-ups; entrepreneurship process; implementing new business plans; commercialization; business plan canvas; innovation and organizational change in existing organizations; entrepreneurship; creating and expanding new markets; operational challenges and opportunities; development and management of family businesses; examples from entrepreneurial successes and failures; types of entrepreneurship; social entrepreneurship |
