Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course is designed to inform our students about the effects of management information systems and their relation to globalization. The importance of information systems in the labor market is explained. The organization, technology and management that constitute the structure of information systems are discussed. While examining information systems, the relationship with different academic disciplines related to the subject is examined. Different automation systems such as CRM, TPS, SCM, DSS and ESS are defined throughout the course. In addition, security of hardware, software, information systems and business intelligence are also mentioned. E-commerce, telecommunication and internet-based technologies are also explained.
Course Content: • Identifies the effects of information systems and their relations with globalization
• Defines automation systems
• Explains e-commerce, telecommunication and internet-based technologies
• Identify the complementary assets and explain the values that information systems add to an organization
• Defines the security of information systems as well as hardware, software and business intelligence concepts
• Develop new systems in the global arena
