Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Providing basic theoretical, plastic, aesthetic and technical knowledge of illustration design and illustrative
To be able to produce a design using picture language.
Course Content: Human, animal figures, plant and sectional drawings. Creation of original illustrations for use areas.

1) 1-To be able to define basic concepts, aesthetic and technical information about illustration. 2-To have information about the history of the illustration and its development stages. 3-To have an idea about the main illustration artists and different illustration styles. 4-To recognize the stages of solving a visual problem using the illustrative narrative language. 5-Define the materials to be used in the design phase and use them effectively. 6-To be able to correctly define the relationship between form and content (subject and visual) in its design. 7-To have an idea about the aesthetic dimension of the design. 8-Improving the ability of drawing illustrative patterns with the applications it has done.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Illustration definition, various opinions and comments, history of illustration. Line studies. Masters and important presentation assignments related to illustrators / artists.
2) Pattern study, form, light, toning, studies using different materials. Masters and important presentations and assignments related to illustrators / artists.
3) ASSIGNMENT 1: “Istanbul Within Me”. Your original impressions. Free technique. About masters and important illustrators / artists presentation assignments.
4) "Who am I?" Look at yourself, self-portrait studies. Pencil, missile, etc. with material. Pattern work, form, light, toning, using different materials ... About masters and important illustrators / artists presentations and homework.
