Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of this course; To describe all the chemical reactions in the cell at the molecular level and explain the changes that occur in these reactions in pathological situations.

Course Content: This lesson; Introduction to biochemistry, Carbohydrates, carbohydrate metabolism, Proteins, enzymes, Protein and amino acid breakdown, lipids, lipids digestion and absorption, fatty acid oxidation, metabolism overview, hormones, sampling in laboratories, preanalytical errors and tests; Includes topics.

Explain the functions of hormones in metabolic reactions in living organisms. Can explain the operation of clinical biochemistry laboratory, sampling and preventing preanalytical errors.
