Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The main purpose of the course is to prepare students for design and to establish the basic skills of design thinking and design research. Students are expected to explore organization, form, and space using a variety of design elements and materials. The course aims to build a visual vocabulary by emphasizing creativity and critical thinking through two- and three-dimensional exercises, design elements and features, design principles, and problems to develop students' mental and manual skills.
Course Content: In the course, design elements, design principles and features are studied theoretically and practically through two and three-dimensional studies.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Introductory Meeting. Introduction of the course syllabus, information about the content, operation and required materials of the course. -
2) Point-Line / Seminar. Point-line work in the workshop after the seminar to be held on Point-Line. -
3) Continuation of example demonstrations and workshops on Point-Line. -
4) Giving criticism to workshops on Point-Line and continuing the work. -
5) Workshop on Point-Line. -
6) Form (2 Dimensions) / Seminar / Workshop after the seminar to be held on the subject of Form. Submission of work on the point-line subject.
7) Giving criticism to workshops on the subject of form and continuing the work. -
8) Midterm exam / submission Submission of studies on the subject of Two-Dimensional Form
9) Form (3D). Creating a three-dimensional derivative form model -
10) Giving criticism to workshops on three-dimensional derivative form model and continuing the work. -
11) Perspective / Seminar / Submission Workshop after the seminar to be held on the subject of perspective. -
12) Space perspective. Space perspective study within the school. -
13) Light-Tone/ Seminar/ Submission. Workshop after the seminar to be held on the subject of Light-Tone. -
14) Workshops on the subject of Light-Tone will continue. Students will be given revision upon their Final Project. -
