Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This program aims to develope student's knowledge about major public health issues, perspectives of public health and preventive medicine, and to provide the ability to interprete and to implement these knowledge into spesific situations related to oral health and dentistry
Course Content: Course includes lectures on the topics below:
* Basic concepts of public health
* Determinants of health
* Population & Reproductive health
* Health indicators
* Communicable diseases epidemiology
* Occupational health and safety
* Environmental health
* Epidemiological studies; reseach methods in epidemiological studies

Additionally, student centered group activities are conducted in the course; topics include:
* Epidemiology and prevention of dental caries
* Epidemiology and prevention of dental caries
* Epidemiology and prevention of periodontal diseases
* Epidemiology and prevention of oral cancers
* Oral health indexes
* Screening of oral health problems
* School dental health
* Financing dental care
