Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to introduce students with the requirements and management methods of actual construction work from the perspective of various stakeholders taking a part in the process.
Course Content: The scope of this course is the actual construction phase of a construction project “lifetime (from initial decision of investment to the actual use phase of the building)”. Mobilization, demobilization, planning, execution and control of construction tasks. Health and safety on site. Environmental sustainability of construction progress. Quality assurance. Resource planning. Back reporting tools and techniques. Quantity surveying. Progress payments. Handover of completed work.

1) Professional competence will be gained to the extent that it will be possible to take quantities, conduct surveys, prepare unit price analysis, and it will be understood what kind of reports should be prepared in order to follow the work in the field in a healthy and accurate manner; preparation and manufacturing follow-up methods, tools and techniques will be able to be used.
Field Specific Competence
1) Occupational safety and health requirements and principles will be understood. In the planning phase, job descriptions, preparation of work orders, how to express the construction method will be learned and these skills will be able to be reflected in the field.
2) You will learn how to prepare and control progress payments, what their components and inputs are.
3) Awareness will be raised about the concepts of construction waste management and circular economy, “As Built” projects will be prepared, and it will be learned what needs to be done to deliver the completed construction to the employer.
