Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the basic design elements and their use on 2 dimensional surface, the relations between them and the methods of placing them in the frame and thus provide them to produce aesthetic designs.
Course Content: 1- Recognize and use basic design elements.
2- Recognize and use the types of relationship within the frame
3- Recognize the structural elements of visual designs and examine them from a critical point of view.
4- Define and produce stress, focus, planning and movement values ​​in the composition.

1) What's the composition? What are the composition elements? What are the key elements of the composition? What is Kadraj? What is placement? drawing paper, pencil, scissors
2) Composition areas and their design. What are the correct ratios and the golden ratio? Use of framing edges. I pen scissors drawing paper, pencil, scissors
3) What are Design Elements? Line and point. Simple and complex items. Geometric shapes and amorphous forms. drawing paper, pencil, scissors
4) What is a Dynamic and Static composition? Equilibrium and asymmetric equilibrium theory in composition. The centers of gravity of objects. What are eye tracking and escape values? What are the effects of movement and direction? drawing paper, pencil, scissors
5) Great and Small relation: Ratio and use in composition. What are the rates of contrast, proximity, and sameness? To produce relationships with different dimensions from a single visual element
6) Space and occupancy: Negative and positive area and its use. What does the composition breathe? To investigate the relation between space and occupancy by cutting black cardboard papers
7) The relation between order and disorder: What is repetition and singularity? What is tissue and how is it formed? drawing paper, pencil, scissors
