Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to bring students information about patient security risks at medical establishment, definition, approach to accident, taking measures, prevention strategies.

Course Content: Introduction to patient safety
Basic Concepts of Patient Safety
National and international patient safety goals
Drug mistakes and safe drug use
Communication and SBAR
Prevention of blood and blood transfusion mistakes
Prevention of health care-related infections
Prevention of surgical errors
Fall prevention
Prevention of baby / child abduction and giving of babies to wrong families
Prevention of severe injuries and deaths due to restrictions
Prevention of pressure ulcers
Patient rights
