Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Learn the Basic Concepts and Resources of Labor Law.
Teaches worker-employer concepts.
Learns the employment contract and the debts arising from it.
Learns the concepts of just cause / valid cause at the end of the employment contract.
Learns the trial and its consequences.
Learns the provisions of the arrangement of work.
Learns the legal consequences for occupational health and safety.
Learns the concept of collective bargaining agreement.
Learns the concept of union and the establishment of unions.
Learns the guarantees of union membership, union representation and management.
Learns the process of issuing collective bargaining agreements and peaceful solutions to disputes that may arise during the signing of collective bargaining agreements.
Learns the concepts of legal strikes and illegal strikes.
Learns the concepts of legal lockout and illegal lockout.
Course Content: This course of Labour Law focuses mainly on the topics such as basic concept, relation between employers and employees, workplace, annulment types of the con-tract and labour-job protection. The aim of the course is to teach the students how to interpret Labour Code nr. 4857 and other related legislation during their field work and to evaluate the conflicts causing from the labour contracts after Bachelors' degree, ac-cording to examples given during the course hours.

The settlement and construction of unions and constitutional and legal dimen-sion is explained to the students within the scope of Trade Union Law. The course is taught according to the amendments of the Trade Union and Collective Agreement Act number 6356. On the topic of collective bargaining, the properties, the content, the le-gal order created and the legal aspects of the agreement itself is studied. Also the con-flicts arise out of the signing process of the agreement is explained; both peaceful and non-peaceful resolutions such as strike and lock-outs. Especially the characteristics of legal and illegal strike concepts and the legal consequences is taught within the course hours.
