Course Objectives: | The aim of the integrated study to be carried out independently in the scope of these disciplines defined in the curriculum as a graduate thesis is to provide the necessary knowledge, skills and developments in all the disciplinary fields constituting the whole of the 4 year education and training in the architecture department independently of the architects international-national (MIAK) criteria and that it reaches a work that proves that it "reaches the expected professional level". |
Course Content: | ●To define the problem/s by analyzing, interpreting the site starting from urban scale, ●Following the analysis, to take planning decisions for the site taking housing units as a focus subject with its surrounding functions as a whole, ●To make deep research and to run discussions through House-Dwelling-Home-Neighborhood- Society- Economy- Politics- Production and Design models, ●To use the data taken from the social and physical analysis of the site actively in the planning and design process, to create design scripts, ●To discuss different design approaches as a whole such as “articulation to the current built environment”, “to be an alternative to the existing”, “to demolish the existing and build from the beginning” ●To take economic/physical and social sustainability as a main axis; to discuss the design and construction model as an important part of the planning and design decisions, ●To develop knowledge on structural system, organization of the functions, topography, circulation etc. ●To use different representation techniques effectively. |
