Course Objectives: | To reveal the general concepts on production of space, to run discussions on alternative ways of design and the milieu of contemporary architecture |
Course Content: | Architecture, as a design field is grounded on production of space. This spatial practice is unavoidably bounded with production relations/networks. This natural relation, describing the dependent character of architecture, defines a main research and discussion topic within architectural history and theory. Within these multi-component relations of production such as actors, natural resources, users, legislations, economy, and politics; what different manifestations of architecture can appear? Can different models be created in contemporary architecture when taken in more interaction with other design practices? Within the scope of this course, mainstream and alternative practices and discourses of the contemporary architecture will be opened to discussion. |
