Course Objectives: | To learn the general concept and principles of earthquake resistant design structures. |
Course Content: | Lateral load resisting systems, two and three dimensional systems, frames, shear walls, shear walls with openings, frame with shear wall structural elements, tube system frames, shear wall cores, mixed structural systems, irregular form of construction, forms that need to be considered in the general shape of buildings, the issues to be followed in sections, the issues to be considered in the determination of frame with shear wall structural systems on the plan, the issues to be considered in the determination of beam-column framings of the structures continuity of the columns from the foundation to the roof. |
