Course Objectives: | This course aims to teach the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods for movement disorders caused by neurological, musculoskeletal, and other related conditions. The objective is to equip students with the skills to understand, analyze, and apply evidence-based rehabilitation approaches to improve the quality of life of individuals with movement disorders. |
Course Content: | This course covers the fundamental causes of movement disorders, neurological and musculoskeletal dysfunctions, and how these conditions are addressed through physiotherapy approaches. The course includes: Pathophysiology of movement disorders, Evaluation of neurological movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, ataxias, and others, Rehabilitation methods for musculoskeletal disorders and postural abnormalities, Utilization of current evidence-based rehabilitation techniques, Treatment planning, implementation, and outcome assessment, The importance of multidisciplinary teamwork and patient-centered approaches. The course is supported by case studies and practical training in addition to theoretical knowledge. |
